International Women's Day - vintage edition

International Woman's Day lest year.
When thinking about it I always see 'celebrations' from childhoods in socialistic Poland in 80's.
Shop shelves were empty and life was rather grey and miserable. On that day women were given a (hard to find) pair of nylon tights and a bare stem of carnation...

I wanted to recreate this mood with my new favorite vintage doll...

 Nostalgic, modest and pensive beauty...

She is beautiful Darcy doll on Barbie gymnast (orange) body.
She is wearing choice of Barbie and Fleur vintage fashions. White and Red (so patriotic) dress seems to be (very well) handmade and came with some bundle of dolls.

she really reminds me beauties from my mums 70's french ELLE magazine editions...
and some more fun with a tortured hyacinth...

  1. Darcy is one of the most beautiful dolls from the eighties in my opinion. She portrays girls form that time perfectly :-).
