Carboot sale (26.08)

...only a week later - another Sunday another bootsale...
Good one - lots of memorable items that are in rotation all the time...

First of all set of great artist brushes and vintage but super sharp tailoring scissors in original box!
Cup and saucer matching my desert plate - original from the Queen's coronation...
and now hosting my survivor orchid - ivory pot with wicker motif....

(that is one unfocused pic, sorry)

the lego and dolls lady this time had as well box of assorted shoes and clothes...
luckily we found her at the very end otherwise i'd go nuts....

I got these chairs - originally to go with my spring mega vintage pack but decided to resale it after all.
I remember not agreeing to get another kitchen or bathroom set...but then i found out they were quite possibly original vintage mattels hence nasty colours and stickers. oh well...

I treated my daughter to yet another dress-up item... pussy cat of some sort - she is visibly happy to have her Halloween sorted (last year)

And my son was delighted receiving big bag of mixed lego
- all in blue with many rare and unusual and vintage odd bits...

Doll-wise nothing shocking can happen anymore but I'm very happy!

I got myself AA Kelly
Retired but rather unique blond-haired and green eyed Camping Fun Teresa
and one and only - Fashion Fever street fashion Tokyo Drew with one of post beautiful make-ups on Lara

and most of original clothes

Here she is very happy getting refreshed

Gorg! but i still have problem with these blue streaks...

lots of conditioner helped to define her curls despite my rather brutal brushing..

Teresa has this vintage charm I cannot resist despite her Bambi eyes and terrible fringe

Very dry and broken hair and mixed feelings abut the bangs...

Here she is in close-up and brand new!

the whole line is tacky but very easy on an eye...

Can't wait to redress and restyle poor abandoned ladies...

Bootsale 24.09 (No 161)

Bootsale like all the others...so many people, very few coins to spend, many items i would probably buy year ago but how many Rapunzel bodies do i need;-)

from lack of exciting doll goods I got myself moomin pillow case...

fun mixed media textured aplique blue skirt

mixed beads for kids to keep them busy

tin can truck..

and urban style Breatz throusers I hope to be able to use for other smaller dolls

but then it started...
bunch of nearly black textured weaving hair for all of my future ethnic brunettes LOL

and then in bunch of other random bold, nude baby dolls... tadaaam

Kewpie doll! but I kept poker face and payed like one pound or something similarly offensive to such classic... This one was big huge, like 12" I imagine and I i fullfilled my intention of reseling her but with slightly bleeding heart as I really wanr to replace my childhood toys - tiny twins my mum brought me from her trip to UK in 80's...
(she had chewed fingers and was rather mouldy inside...)

happy and prowd I strol with grumpy face by the vintage toy trader... she always has shocking vinage stuff but priced accordingly... today she surprised me... I saw a lean pale body, couldnt resist and touched it, and placed the limbs in order.... but it was too big, out of my interest and comfort zone AND I had not enough money anyway...
but after few rounds it hit me - noçw or never - fight in the name of all nude dolls taht need saving!

With my blaise face and poking 'it' with finger I asked if the proce is negotiable maybe, baybe?
The only answer I got was - 'Six?'
which was exactly what i wanted to hear!!! and all that i have had left...

tadaaaam - here she is... Blanka
accidentaly my first BJD ever.

so creepy and voulnerable she got my heart... forever

cheeky-sad face is everything...
...and i discovered why/that her head is actually opening, yay

and yes - I am now very tempted to have one pair of eyes in every colour!
her eyelashes were falling off so I used it as an excuse to make her even more strange-looking<3
her eyeballs are marked with glue and however ger plastic is nice quality and matt I had no hopes for any fancy original.. no markings what so ever - let the 13" pale girl identification extravaganza begin... uckly she hes quite characteristic face and not so well designed palms and feet...

soon after, with little help of my friends we agreed taht she might be Cosette doll.
22" tall, 1/3 scale, 12  hoints or something... around 50 dollars for a new one...
cool but cheap enough to play fearlessly..

oh sooo TBC!

Bootsale 01.03

The time has come.
The winter break is over. No more excuses.
Outdoor grass craboot is reopening exactly on 1st of March.
Time for my Wednesday, after school drop-off extravaganza.

I didn't know what to expect as it is still rather chilly but I guess there must be a group of clients and eager regulars from the other side!!!!
Very happy I biked - it was sleepy and only alleys full but still - good old fun!

Firstly from big box of 'victorian' porcelain dolls I managed to dug out very unusual doll...
Her scale is a bit annoying /unusual but she is sort of ball jointed and with a string and I guess her face sculpt has quite a potential...
As she is Mattel made I managed to find she is a blonde Gabby doll from line of three young girls called 'Teen Trends' - never heard of them...
Her body is like large Wee Friends, max 11-13 yo, measuring ca 14".

I am considering her as a second candidate for the singing Cindirella tall body -
now under Chincz girl...

make-up is not from my favorite Barbie era and definitely has to go!
So does her dry platinum blonde hair....
here she is after quick angry haircut - looking rather punk and fed up<3
I've been working on removing stains and prepared her face for repaint...
she is waiting over 6 months so far...
lots of potential here (and elastics which give in after soaking in hot water;-)

I bet they were not very successful... not a bad idea, easy to operate, dress and sew for doll this size but I guess young girls want something glamour/adult like Barbie or larger Generation or American girl friend me thinks...

Gabby as brand new in her box
I brawsed eBay and there was a brunette friends for her but since i plan to modify her
it reaaaallly didn't make sense:-)
They come with a nice suitcase wardrobe tho...

***
oh dear... and then I moved to the old house scrapers section or whoever they are...
and i saw her lying very sad, face down with a broken arm...
She was huge and heavy and 200% creepy but guy said 'two pounds' and it started to rain...
so what could I do... only hope to resale it obviously...

This is how my ride home looked like that day...

oh dear... she is sooo ugly but hair are 100% alpaca and hand-made using felting needle...

all very naturalistic 22" of vinyl and at least 3 kg of weight...

It seems to be some Spanish toy producer.
Still operating but no doll of this size nowhere to be seen on internet...

I fixed her arm and supported thorn canvas with silver tape.
managed to sell her for x10 of investment.

New owner was very happy. Redressed her and even send me a picture (my first time <3) That's so cool - I was worried I cannot bit her in any corner of my room but luckily she was gone in second week:-)

p.s. I guess it was some well done custom with mat fixant, needlefelted hair and glued sleepy-eyes...
