Bootsale / My doll nr 102 Darci

Oh one good sale it was... not only I had a lot of fun, bought cool stuff, sold most of it with fab profit ...but also ca write an epos on things I have left behind since I came with 10.00 pounds only (never again from now on as I found Asda in between two carboot's locations;-)

Here is the general overview (21.07.2016)...

From non-doll related - fab emerald jersey dress bought from the same person as two wall papers... I had a good instinct with these - they were indeed original, vintage 60/70 vinyl Made In England ones. Bought for 2 each sold for 28 each LOL (obviously i left behind two blue-violet ones, grrrr as I was o bicycle and short on cash, as usually LOL)

Then there is embroidered piece for my cottage kitch corner, potential 'floristry' containers and a spelling game...

Then... Spice Girl'd Geri head, 40 p. - thought i'll repaint her but no time and uninspiring mold after all... and sooo 80's Tonka rock'n'roll, Hollywood something doll from larger series..

Then dug out from one container of dirty and tangled dolls: vintage doll with a brken leg and missing hand and rather charming Mackie with a side gimps. Payed 50 p. for both and managed to let one go;-)
 before and after

Her make-up is really charming, mocca-gold...but her eyes are huge an dI don't do blue-eyed blondes, right;-)

Here she is in original packaging with lots of accessories:-) Fashion Fever 'Hair highlights'

I knew her face looked familair... my doll nr 102 is 70's fashion doll Darci... I can't even...she is wonderfully heavy (like Hasbro's Jem), proportional, realistic, minimal make-up, fab hair with stylish elegant wavy curl... just the embodiment of 70's to me...

 fab wardrobe too...

since she is blonde I guess I'll stop at only one of these.
Due to numerous fatal injuries I had to transplant her gorgeous head onto spare barbie gymnast body. Here she is before her International Woman's Day session...

Continuing... the last aisle of this fruitful carboot was just amazing...
There was this guy, he must have been selling out stuff from his antique shop or something...
He had a pile of vintage Sindies, Pippa dols, Debanham's fashion doll you name it... I tried to keep my cool and have chosen just a few.. negotiated with the guy and he agreed to cut the price to 10 pounds for all of them...then it came to me - I have spent most of my money on wallpapers, aaaaa

I had three pounds so I only took vintage, bend arms Superstar to loot her diamond jewelry and auburn, short haired Sindy whos body looked unusual (and plastic a bit decomposed;-) and i hoped she is really old... I don't want to think about what I have left behind.. should've arrange something or pay w/ paypal...anything...

Jewelry went to my Walmart Barbie and this poor lady (with a needle hole on her forehead found a new loving home soon) - here she is in her original state (aaawwww):

I managed to identify Sindy as 60's one indeed and got over 50 pounds!!  for her in the end...
here are few of souvenir photos from my auction:

 ohh that was intense
(it doesn't mean that 'unfortunatelly' I am not hearing eBay's call...
life with a doll 'on her way' is just not spicy enough LOL

My doll nr 101

Oh Mother Mary protector of dollies... I am so sooo happy! I have crystal clear memory of standing in front of a shop's window burning with desire...the most exotic thing I ever saw in gray socialistic country...and her hair..not only super long but also curly...and the face..so authentic, so Hawaiian...

and here she is, some 20 years later, not identified and poorly described on eBay...nude and not too expensive... My Island Fun 1987 Miko!

freshly delivered parcel<3 with a well packed mummy inside...

and my love...with three fab 20 yo dreadlocks ;-)
absolutely adore these gray eyes and minimal make-up..
absolutely the best nose and lips in the whole Mattel (before 2015 or so;-)

Fear not... keep calm and bath with Christie...
'Let it dry, let it dry'
and turn into a happy clean combed pom pon...

She had to spend quite a few months waiting in queue before second wave of spa treatments...fabric softener soaking, hot water, conditioners, combing and who knows what... in the end I managed to find her original hairline and decided to try to control her curls a little bit...

..with some pipe-cleaners and hairdryer...
in a meantime (aka far far future /now) I got this vintage frilly summer/hawaii-ish dress
it is not perfect but I didn't want to experiment to much with this vintage beauty...
(and the hair look a bit fizzy on promo pics below anyway)

She is part of a classic (first?) beach doll line consisting of Barbie, Hispanic doll (oh I don't like this mold (luckily), my Asian friend and unusually light-haired Christie with lilac eye-shadow:

My dolls : nr 99 & 100!

This is quite a special entry. The number is nice and round (and not even that scary anymore, LOL) and teh dolls are just amazing. I have been blessed/cursed again by ebay - yet another poorly described auction ending at some funny hour. I must have paid less than a tenner and i don't reme, ber any particularly'bloody' battle happening...

This is how they looked on internetz...

.I never had particular desire or affection regarding The Rockers series...I appreciate how classic they are and how well they represent 'estrada' of the 80's...but their make-up is pointless in my collection...
To be honest I was more excited about the glowing-in-the-dark gown which I remembered from childhood... this would be the last one (except of the 'bag'one) that I desired... :-)))

Here is my bounty on the day of arrival:

 oh my!
In Superstars department (which I am banned to buy even more than Christies;-) I've got My First with a broken neck and an original european edition dress (worn out a lot)...

yet another fashion play (my first real life Barbie) in a 'period' dress

..and a beautiful long-haired, crazy-eyelashes Barbie with red lips...
I had hard time letting her go but I identified her as Birthday at MacDonalds play set doll....
this one...<3

sooo...my doll 99 turned out to be at least 2in1...
not only that I finally got the hold of glowing-in-the -dark starry gown from my childhood memories (although a bit worn out - still fully operative;-)), also the Christie wearing it, although with a broken neck, turned out to be highly desirable Benetton Christie with pink hoops and fab simple eye
make-up...

Dream glow line (with a silly umbrella/night para-sol) consisted of 3 dolls:
Barbie, AA and Hispanic

 so bad so good <3

I covered the first Benetton line while describing my Barbie's hand-made re-created outfit.
Here is my Christie on arrival and in her original outfit:

Her hair are absolutely amazing heavy and soft at the same time... so I attempted to recreate the characteristic hairstyle

The last doll from this delivery gets the very special No 100!
She is from the Rockers line (which I will illustrate better quite soon;-) and bared Midge facesculpt - with nude lipstick and wild 80's eye make-up.
She managed to keep most of her original outfit yet her very curly hair came in 'semi-dreaded' state...

here she is on arrival...

 and her hair...
..and here the 'magic of make-up' comparison...

so after few months of queuing in the box they finally got her spa. As I had a spare AA body I decided to give Christie some freedom of movement (compromising on her arms tho).
Midges hair soaked in fabric conditioner did not became shiny overnight so I needed to brush them...they are still very wavy just a bit longer...

here is a sneak peak from my fun session from the future (hmmm)

***

on the same day, in the morning I went for a carboot sale and came back with these goodies. Disney's toddler Ana in random yet lovely ethnic dress and slightly damaged Sindy stuff...

and interesting textured deep purple braiding/reroot hair (apparently very stiff) but will see...
