Greek Empres mashup

Ooouppps I think I just discovered a forgotten ancient civilisation!

My Goddes, Empress and Princes of Ancient Textillya, Duchess of North Laces and Dame of Haberdashery has risen!

With a poker face she is she is performing a serious fashion mashup and a post-modern display of power... The best of my doll's clothes basket are:
- Chinese Empress patterned coat
- Brave's emerald dress
- Hispanic Barbie head-dress...

enjoy my people!

few basic portraits...

then I started to warm up...

...then it started to go places...
one caring Empress, I swear;-)

and I went for even more ethno-folk...

Mother of Dragons places even;-)

too much fun!!!
I remembered I have propper camera and that you are allowed to manipulate the doll pictures OBVIOUSLY and that I used to play with the programs a lot once (two babies ago?):-)

My doll No 51

Once upon a time on Monday morning I've been coming back from a school drop off and just to have clear consciousness (or not), out of greed and curiosity) I just popped into local charity... and there she is...or maybe it was Friday afternoon - it didn't make much sense anyway...

Doll in a full outfit, with unusual haircolour, shoes! and articulated one..she is just sitting there (waiting for me obviously) with a price tag £1... I just grabbed her, payed, squeezed into mu purse and rushed home...

Obviously a horseriding outfit, genuine Barbie clothes, high boots I always dreamed about and this tottaly amazing amazing skin shade and auburn / hazelnut / idunno hair colour!

make-up is basically brown and lipstick is dark nude... all that on Superstar face!
 graceful and very well posing:-)
so good and natural looking!
I was so impressed with this body that I forgot Holiwood nails has the same type of body already...

'Thank you for saving me. I am all yours'!

It wasn't too difficult to find out that its a 1997 Horse-riding Barbie...
She came boxed alone riding on a cardboard or in a gift set with a nice horse.

Mine is option 2 as I have found one  bow pin in her hair, yay!
Can't wait to restyle her - amazing potential in those colors!!

TBC

[she waited few months for her session - TBA]

My models pt. 2

I got her in second-hand / charity shop back when i used to live in Stockholm. It was a huge basket full of dolls and I am afraid to think what really could be there if I only know what to look for;-) then...
She was the first doll I have bought to myslef as an adult - she made me realise how much I love these, how much change in technology and style happend ince 80/90s... and for the first time I have used the on-line resources to identify the doll... Pandora's box it was...

Look at these amazing long and fiery red hair... lifelike eye lashes... and full lips...

here, she is wearing a hand crocheted necklace and
hand-made sky-blue cotton and tulle t-shirt by roroDolls.

...and uh well... purple legs and wings moving mechanism.

She turned out to be a Lenara Fairytopia Lavender Wonder Fairy Barbie Doll 2004.

Here she is with all the accessories:
and in a box:

my models pt. 1

I absolutely adore her! Amazing how she catches/reflects the light...
and she is sooo against blonde 'barbie doll' stereotype...

close-up of my doll in original outfit (and missing necklace pieces)

South African Princess Barbie Doll (2002) official

got her second-hand on-line, with a certificate.

p.s. the 'Mbili' head mold was used on this doll /link/
