Blue Monday

Today my session for an annual Bella_bella_dolls #monday4dolls post - Blue Monday...

Blue Monday is said to be the worst and most depressing day of teh year - the first Monday of the New Year - when you return to work after festivities...with nothing to wait for except for days getting longer and hope of some more daylight...

..but I took it more literaly and just played with colour. As I don't have that much plain blue objects I added few dashed of teal and turquoise...to the point where thinks got more optimistic and with a dash of happy green!

Denim love or maybe something more diverse?

same goes for the interior...I don't do simplicity so had to mix things up...

Here is my BLUEish doll space:-)

MMMmmmm I really like that one!!

Vintage Sindy armchaiir, charity shop Ikea dolls bed, wallpaper from bin, old scarf blankie and shelving from miniature Space NK cosmetics box...

...and few details... Cinderella and chicken - totally makes sense...eclectic - toldya...

Here she is - out January heroine on rather sunny monday morning...

Full of energy rocking vintage turquoise jumper...

Afternoon scenes with electric light...

Launge wear to say the least...posing  - so exhausting!

Yeah...it is  a Blue Monday after all...

...but should we maybe attempt to do..something...anything...
- like to clean?!

Oh look, a book!

Ah wait!
I'm a fashion doll!
Let's have a costume change...in blue!

Denim on denim - why not!

nah...must lay down...

Sunshine!

Cheers! It's gonna be ok...
Till Spring!

Doll activities (doll No 158)

..While having a proper insight into my collection of sorted and queuing dolls I had few ideas and solutions coming my way at last:-)

Here some of my doll logistics

so I have made a final decision not to fal into Mackie/Model Muse trap at all... I decapitated tese dolls, put well identified and described head for sale and kept the bodies for th eonly blaise and posh heads I could think of... my Integrity Jade sisters (playline)...

The skin tones are not really matching..oh well

they have so much more class and character tbh

I definitely like teh brown-haired one more... brunette has to go once i'll have a little but of fun:-)

Happy to discover there are different poses to Model Muse line. Interesting.

without much ado...

chop chop chop
abra-cadabra...

and one happy Indian girl ready - soon to be 'a published doll'.

and the Jade sisters had to wait for months to be dressed and restyled....
but they are very pleased me thinks.....

My Dolls No 14

...and at last time to share my ideal yet mysterious doll;
Again a great gift from my hubby - tottal surprise and accident too of course. I would never find her as I didn't know what to look for... one of those amazing times when you reach to the end of Internet /sort of/ and then something clicks in your head and doors open:-)

My fav for long time had lovely dark, mat skin, natural African hair, green eyes and red lips plus fully articulated body /the first I ever seen/...
she was nothing like other Barbies, much smaller yet made by Mattel...

just look at her, here and there!

To make a long story short - I have emeiled a specialist, and it was in times when i still pretended I am not collecting anything;-)...
Lovely author behind The Black Doll Collecting website!

I have received a very precise answer in no time...
Her name is KIYONI
from multi-etnic, hip-hop, street-style doll line FLAVAS

well obviously... now I know.
In general - not my style fashion-wise, but body-type definitelly yes
and give me more pretty please:-)

Here are my first fotos of her:

my doll collection vol. 7 & 8

the next two dolls might be an actual begenning of collection.
I got them in my teens - first ones i was never playing with - just to adore, dress and posess ;-)
they still are embodiment of my dream fasion doll.
looking more like me - with natural, sun kissed brown hair.
not being soooo pink... and first of all - something very unussual in early 90s -
green and purple eyes, again, with vey natural make-up.

Sindy doll has quite an impresive history too (1963),and yay! its English :-)
you can read history (((here))).
"Sindy's "girl next door" look made her more popular than Barbie in Britain" sais it all.

here are my deer-eyed beauties:

and here they are in oryginal packaging/outfits:
