Dollmeet Freebies (No. 217 & 18)

I always admired these posts on blogs and ista - gifts, swaps and donations coming from dollmeets - I am now happily part of these as well...

i brought these amazing minis home

Together with BTS delux doll and...be still my heart...

Fashion Play doll from my era....

as well as splendid dress and vintage denim cape... plus bag of gooodies...

I am super chuffed with this Barbie - she has nearly identical eye make-up as my childhood one and is adorably simple and modest  -  she is barely played with so her locks have this freshly out of the box feeling....

There was Christie and Teresa available as well

My childhood doll has the same narrow box and collectable stamps....

thank you dear collectors for sharing these <3

ah...memories....

Something shiny (and extremely plastic)

Not exactly a doll but a dream coming true and one more (child-ish) desire satisfied.

One day when spending time strolling with my daughter in pushchair, I visited few charities - as usually, just in case...
In the shabbiest and smelliest of them all I saw a ridiculously pearly-pinky-golden-crystal white horse and a full size carriage with a canopy and stuff...it was really over the top in it's 80sness and when I saw it is standing on its original box and has instruction included I did not hesitate..actually I did...got so excited that I managed to leave the shop and after making decision of buying it I noticed I have left a toddle in a stroller behind;-) oh well...

Then basically whole shop got involved into dismantling it and fitting back into box as my school pic-up time was approaching really quickly.

The huge box was my sweet secret for a while as I couldn't sell it before properly playing with and photographing it without making some ridiculous display in our living-room;-)

Here are few technical, horse, details and box pictures...

 yay...
horse time... /i never had one!!!! this one is quite useless tho - tottaly stiff/
but it's hair are cotton candy pink and body like a shimmery - pearl;-)

 slightly dated;-)
hair accessory, you know...
 modest, right?

 ..also - surprise, surprise...

now for full length and some fancy party goers, right?

once modest fashion play Barbie arrives as a first guest (copy of my first Barbie ever!)...
 with a partner...
(and this is beyond confused cos chronologically, again, neither Ken nor the outfits have arrived yet, but they are already long gone by the time you are reading this, hmmm)
Crystal Barbie is here...
 so bad, so good!

...followed by many more elegant guests in fancy dresses from THE epoque!

Holly cow! That was too much fun!!!!
I love my hobby:-)

My dolls. No 17

 Number SEVENTEEN!
Seventeen is quite a lot of dolls I have to admit and this one was was exactely the turning point...
I have bought this doll deliberately on-line searching for Afroamerican or Ethnic Barbie /terribly Eurocentric description of course...:-( /

here are her auction pics. Hair never seen a comb and she just lays down looking like doll becouse thats how author of the photograph sees her...

and here the adventure begins... the identification process... being child of the 80s I kept thinking they are just 'Black Barbies' /I was aware of brunette Teresa and young Skipper ofc./ but its not that easy  - thats why it is so exciting...all these dates of production, lines, variations, names...and OOAKs of course...
Such a wonderful diversity and quite a confussion for the beginners...

Here is a close-up of my "AA Barbie, long hair, pink earrings, brown eyes, pink lips"

 and pensive with Kiyoni...

She had date 1990 on her neck (technically she is vintage but such a novelty for me:-) - she seems to wear original stylish pink laced underwear but I couldn't identify her...
hmmm

While searching for  answers I remembered my childchood Barbies. I remembered I had not one but two blondes wearing only underwear... they were cheap and we could afford at all...and her make up and hairstyle wasn't that terribly 80's /not that i dont have sentiment now.../

They were made every year few years in a row, also in 'Black' versions...

My first Barbie doll - Fun to Dress 1987!
I can't recall what happend with her which is shocking as I played with her haaard...

my number two, which I loved a bit more it seems and her hand was chewed by my puppy dachsundbut I was above that at the time (like 13 I mean;-)...

To make the long story short - years 1987 and 1989 had AA versions but it wasn't mu outfit and not my face (1990) obviously...
                                                           and Hispanic one as well...

Debbie Garrett from blackdollcollecting.com came with help saying "It's a Barbie or Christie that uses the Asha head sculpt post 1990." but cold not dentify the clothing...

...so 'Black Barbie' or 'Barbies friend - Christie' using Asha sculpt...

anyone??
