My Dolls, nr 135

Today absolutely no good excuse why I got this doll.
Pretty good end-of-the-year reflection on my doll collecting :-)
I have been good not buying any dolls so I awarded myself with a completely impulsive buy... but she has purple  eyes, articulated body, she's fully dressed and with shoes and i-almost-don't-have-this-mold...

Ladies and gentleman - somebody else's unwanted ooak/hybrid - from the Barbie Spy Squad line/film the Cat burgler / Skipper head on Fashionista body wearing Barbie fashions floral dress...

Here she is as a product - part of molded shoes, molded tops, molded trousers dolls:-(
I would never got her like that so it is in a way a lucky find...

...and here they are in the action... at least mine is a meanie;-)

Here she is on arrival as an orange worm...

the end bits...

And a first glimpse at fun colour play

and her cat-snake eyes - nice contrast between purple iris and hot red lips!
Here she is in later, less spontaneous pics:

This diorama generally, chronologically comes from the future..so are these hand-made clothes on next picture...

the rest of this session will be published in million years...

Rest of the pack:

The backpack with a rope is pretty cool but it is attached permanently and molded with the hand! Teresa has only one articulated knee... but her animated faces are less adult (rounder and childish)and bitchy than in previous productions...
but 'oh dear' in general...

My Birthday dollies (No 134)

Today two dolls I got for my birthday.
I have spent few days alone between stocktaking session and flying to join my family for spring break...
Unusually for me both dolls are nrfb. Unusually for me I intend to leave one of them in this state. She makes much more sense as a packaged product than a toy - for this once (to my surprise). She is my gift to myself. The second one is long awaited Mate to Move Asha... but she won't get ther number as I intend to use her as a donor...

Here we go (with some help of my tiny, lovely nude assistants, freshly from spa at that time..)

Three boxes, triffle and belgian beer;-) None of which I need to share, LOL
Lovely lilac tisse paper is covering this treasure consisting of 11 items - oh good old 90's Mattel!
Tadaaa... here she is in her boxed GAP glory!

 with a cool lace loop
...old elastics and millions of fab details - enjoy!
Fab denim blue eyeshadow and cheerful bandana<3
Denim jacket and oversized shirt to die for...
amazing shopping bag with brand new pair of jeans with tiny tags!!!
Coanvas throusers, cap and backpack... (oh how will I resist!!)
This is 1996 edition - AA version of a classic Caucasian Barbie.
Year later Mattel-Gap duo repeats the success(?) with a mum-daughter sets wearing fab burgundy hooddies and sunglasses!

 ***

Being the last doll blogger on planet earth to debox MtM doll - i'll be quick:-)

here she is unanimated with her vintage friend.... and feeling herself for the very first time! magic...
It is very interesting to finally hold this body in hands... so many possibilities that I really couldn't think of any... beautiful palms, love the muscular tights... not so happy with tiny feet and very bad finish of the molded lips... definitely a fan of heavy vintage rubber substantial bodies...

After seeing all those instagrams, flickrs and blogposts I am sooo bored with this neutral face and short hair that I will have no objections in decapitating her one day...

so much fun and few technical issues.... these two joints are creepy...
..and robotic elbows and knees are not too convincing...
 tbc

p.s. perfumes were such a stinkers I resold them.. definitely not a Versace girl nor into pinks and crystals;-)

Stocktaking Feb 17

Marry Christmas all doll lovers!

A bit end-of-the-year kind of post today...

Last February, during half term I had pleasure to be completely alone at home, for few days between my floristry class and my flight on Tuesday...

I was waking up without a clock (still before 8), staying late at night, crafting, reading, sewing all days... I started my first diorama, opened my dolly birthday gifts left by hubby under his sweater and I finally had an opportunity to have closer look at my collection and to do what many of you doll bloggers do - a group session.

I decided to show only dolls I have washed and redressed, photoshooted and described on this blog by February 2017 so it is a little bit off chronology wise as usually...

It took more space and time than I expected but oh dear, that was fun!

a disgraceful pile in ikea storage box (I store the vertically so that I can see the head and grab one I need - like a book from a shelf;-)* ...and please please ignore the hideous carpet and ridiculous wall colour - we are renting this house (and should have invested 3 years ago...)

 there we go!

Here they are as a crowd or a waterfall...
as you cannot see much anyway - here they are in sections...
from the bottom : Superstars, redheads and Leas...
 later Teresas and Christies...
Asha group and other ethnic dolls...
top rows is category 'Others'... 16" Madame Alexander's, Heart Family, Sunshine Family, Monsters and Livs - they are not accounted in my collection for some reason and its a big big lie....
Then I had this bright idea to 'videotape' them all...shaky and slowly:-)
...just added background music for the first time ever and embedded video on blogger phhefff!

they are short so enjoy 2 encores of my debut <3
its called 'Ugly Carpet and February Light'

I guess it's 78 dolls (and two tiny babies)
not bad at all but I have yet another stock-track from August 2017...there will be more <3
and they will be much better documented and presented. Stay tuned...
