16" of doll (No 58)

And so the story end - the story of a marvelous, over the top week of May the 9th - full of dolls and weak will;-) Devil is throwing these dolls at my legs, and I bid and i win.. but it is still a little bit my fault...

After Livs, more Livs and Kaylas I stumbled upon AA doll which was unusual! 16" already sounded tempting and desirable to me (#too many doll blogs) and this one was 'ethnic', boxed, dressed and only £9.99... the auction was ending just before 3 o'clock / school pick up time on Wednesday or something... I was the only one taking part, which i still consider a bit strange and on the edge with a destiny thing:-P

Madame Alexander, Paris Williams 'Dinner for two' was to become my AA 16"!

She looked like that in her (unusual for me) formal clothes:

I didn't know what to expect from her body so I did a little research beforehand.
Paris Williams has always the same face mold but different fashions and editions...

4 points of articulation on arms....
/no, mine didn't have underwear underneath the suit/

also articulated waist, knees, ankles...

quite a spectacular line of high fashion dolls not for children (which still confuses me)

I remember being totaly impressed but also overwhelmed by the box,and paper, and bows... a product that makes you feel feelings essp if you grab it for 9.99....

 impressive suede jacket

fully lined and numbered... its gonna be super fun and a challenge to sew for this one... but i love the scale..so much more comfortable and handy than 11"...
her throusers are no less impressive:
with a great finish and a mini zip...

lacy blouse:

shoes, not pictured are sand / camel leather flips on heals - nicely glued and finished...

the doll has nail polish on hands and toes...
and an extra articulation point for high heels...
belly button and the most impressive 'chest':
and a numbered, not so for children bum...
her calm and regular face is not less impressive...

I knew immediately - I don't want to go in this direction at all... they are not fun, they are not innocent... very powerful, overwhelming and over all terribly expensive which is disgusting - just as the idea of collectable toys for adults...
I love her but she will be the only one.

I have hard time doing stuff with her - still no custom roro fashion...

(also...her body is actually much worse quality than hear - you can see plastic edges and its too shiny... knees are a bit 'blocked' and do bend or rotate... she is completely stiff at her neck - basically only turns her head around... - its a bit confusing)

...so I am ending the year with a memory of a very bad taste in my mouth and the feeling that i have reached the top /shelf/  and the bottom /fall/ of my doll collecting...

My doll no 57

In the same packet as Lea from previous post came Kayla FF.
Lovely tanned skin colour, huge lemour eyes and raven black, straight shiny hair.

For some time I did not know in what direction I should o with her. I do my hardest to avoid fiery, rich brunettes in red and gold you know...

After checking out many big eyed Leas I came to conclusion sh eis wave A, 2004 FF doll. My Kayla originally came in rather casual, sporty outfit but it does not do justice to sad misterious Kayla/Lea face me thinks...

She stood on my desk for a while, wearing not much more than a red myScene beret /looking fab and versatile/...

but one day - just BAM! she became my autumn harvest queen for a mini photo competition at doll forum...

I called her Ruujana and like no other she became my faw for months and stood on fireplace in our bedroom - for the whole season! (photo did not receive a single point/vote tho which I foond shocking despite session being just pulled from my.... veggie basket and crafty stash... but I enjoyed it a lot and colours are just fab!!!! really glad how this superstar austrian Barbie's jacket got new life.. ans sassy lace plum dress...from my panties, uh girl!

Happy New year btw (this is not a post about 2017 playline or even 2016 Fashionistas, i know, getting there LOL).

My doll fall nr 56

Back to me raporting on one massive dolly week from late May 2016..
After lucky carboot sale Livs and two more on eBay - I stumbled upon this set of Lea / Kayla mold dolls... well yes, I actively typed 'Lea', mea culpa... devil obviously wanted me to win this one as well...

Here they are on eBay pictures (with quite nice natural looking yet contemporary Barbie with darker streaks - found a good home already).

how could i resist...

parcels accumulation...
 on arrival

Lea's bob is so well made I wasn't sure if she has her hair cut at all - must have been and adolescent owner / collector... She has very pale pink lips and characteristic necklace so I knew identification won't be that difficult...

I had two candidates - ones to the right,
but only the last one has a fringe and really narrow / asian? eyes.

she is Fashion Fever wave C:
from which I accidentally own the pink Mackie, blue Kayla and desire Teresas ofc...

as she is 2004 Hawaian Kayla I decided to cover her up as I always tend to do with beach doll...

(btw. shouldn't Leas be more 'asian' - and super hawaii in this case indeed... why she is called Kayla then, hmmmmm)

full and half-length view of my purple styling

She is wearing hand-made felt hat, inScene heather collared coat, hand-made mini dress in pink and plum, upcycled warm tights and Liv doll boots /my fav for next few moths;-)/
 dreamy close-up

and here is a close-up of her bob:-)

it's a lovely doll, really happy to have her. A bit pensive with Gioconda smile...

more Lives

...right after my boot sale 50p magic bag...the following week I made this silly thing of wanting moooorrreee and even setting the alarm clock around the time of putting my kids to sleep...

oh well, fortunately I won and now i really have to sell all the Katie stuff LOL

[spaaaam]
Here they are on the day of arrival...
lovely mummies....
close-up <3
this green eyed - neutral lips beauty is Hayden
and a lovely version of Alexis with make-up stronger than usual :-)

Hayden in her original outdoor outfit looks so good I would buy her again (which obviously makes a lot of sense to most of collectors, right). Oh and I would wear it all myself:-))) wellies and flannel are killers - proper Canadian doll:-)

Alexis' lips are a bit overthetop and drag;-) but the overall effect and the line of 'Schools out' dolls is nice too /amazing shoes!/:

They waited for moths - from Spring till Autumn only to be published in Winter;-P
When i came back to play and sew I got this mixed feeling again - 1. how can anyone chop off this head and use them for rebodying Barbes. 1 a. their heads are actually too big. 2. oh, I think I love my Moxie tees more /in category articulation + acrylic eyes). 3. their body is too light in comparison to vintage rubber Mattel... and it annoys me. 4. oh I love my Livs!
or something along these lines of collectors logic ;-)

My Alex:

Hayden:

hypnotizing bulb heads!
