bootsale 19.06 pt 1

Just a report from one of the best bootsales of last season...

The story goes  basically - never leave daddy at the stall when you mostly sale stuff after your daughters...

Amongst piles of heavily used crap I see a nice camping table full of fully dressed Monsters - but I was very collected and they were clean and not cheap at all... but on the ground laying two boxed full of doll stuff... oh how collected I was - got only what i really needed which is three or four doll stands - not only I may have few monsters - you can also stabilize Barbies attached by their tight...

Few rows later I decided to comeback and with innocent and bored face dug out all shoes and bags I could find...price was ridiculous and i knew they would sell to support this madness;-)

Anyway - its been a lot of fun identifying them. Learnt a lot about MHs and some of cool playful ideas full of imagination behind... Here are some pics:

Operetta's shoes

Clawdeen golden pumps

Abby's white ones

 Abby's icy bag

Gigi's purse

Abby's amethyst bag from a playset /how cool is that, i totally dig her frosty stuff!/

tottaly cool accessories hidden in a coffin-bag

and last but not least Draculara's so handy bloody-crystal lips...

oh dear, i totally understand the craze...

My doll - no 70 - 72

Dolls travel in groups and appear suddenly in herds...it was not different this time...
Same week, day, hour when I was digesting spending a lot of money on classic Superstars which I don't collect one of my /non-existing/ wish-list doll suddenly emerged...

Badly photographed in random company but definitely her - Hollywood Nails Teresa in the best burgundy-cherry tones with elements of original clothing...oh what could I do...

Oh I can handle it, I will sell all the rest, who cares, she said... ekhmmm

two exciting boxes - one with FF Teresa from previous posts

the 'extras'...California Barbie despite being platinum blonde is so characteristic that I took her with me to Croatia /'before i'll sell her'/and yes, she photographs very well (no 70 she is then)...the contemporary one is going but I kept sooo very vintage outfit for the sake of some crazy dated session, you know;-)

Then exactly the same Nichelle I somehow sold with ease but kept cool dress, and then Teenage Skipper (No 71 - photo session coming later than sooner)...in amazing amazing condition BUT not only that i don't have this mold, you know, she practically is strawberry blonde nearly ginger also - she turned out to be from Rio de Janeiro line from which I already have Teresa doll (if that makes any sense LOL)

Al that doesn't mean anything at all because here she is (No 72):

Perfect nailpolish (and a name tag on her wrist, interesting)
exciting combination of colours, cool starry seethrough - I wish i had this mini vest...
and her hair are raven black!

Fourth wardrobe piece I missed and a cool cool body
...lipstick colour reminds me one my mother used to wear rain or shine:-) Doll's hair are actually cherry red/burgundy on the front and bangs are super short:-)

She even looks cool straight from bubble wrap...a bit intimidated and no idea how to restyle her just yet as keeping her as Mattel created her is not very much my style;-)

TBC

p.s. on the exact same rainy day I picked up yet my second Clawdeen - amazing shiny purple streaks and 75p only... oh dear.../possibly nr 73 but I will wait with that as Monsters are unofficial and illegal LOL).

Adventures in rebodying - dolls 68 & 69

it this episode you will read about how I've turned in to a cold-blooded headhunter...i mean body hunter with several heads...

Case 1 is a seriously fair skinned, 2000s strawberry blonde /slightly ginger-as-an-excuse , and possibly ex-princes...None of my bodies matched and hollywood nails of Polish Barbie were obviously much more precious that this random head... which I pity tho...

One day fortunetelly in my super shabby local charity I stumbled uppon one hobbit bodied teresa-faced Barbie...not pretty not ugly - just not my style...

I always admire how coloration and makeup change a personality of a mold...

Thanks to her hairstyle and very blue eye-shadow I managed to 'rebrand' her as 70's Disco era styled Barbie head -(can't seem to find my 'promo' pics somehow).  Happily sold on ebay to someone ooaking hard:-) Guilt on purchasing the head and body for spares - anulated ;-P

Acne cream made wonders. The body was a hobbit type - just a lovely petite ginger friend of Barbie;-P

The second successful rebodying was Christie's from the same batch of heads.

With the green eyes and a streak of brown hair, fringe and medium length i first falsly identified her as a WNBA basketball player doll...

pretty close but seriously...no earrings but hey -
still the most reconisable Mattel lines - Pearl Beach Christie going roro...

After putting her hopeless hair on pipe cleaners  I've made final decisions about the body...
I went for Disneys Tiana despite of her limbs being slightly greenish -
her torso is a great match and hands have nice articulation:
tadaaaa

one happy beach doll almost 20 years later;-)

here she is trying to work out her new afro;)

she is kind of petite on this slightly more lean body:-)
and she photographs sooooo well!

articulation changes everything...

My dolls - no 67

A classic case - when you are not supposed to buy any more dolls but they just lay at your feet on eBay... my favorite kind of listing - unidentified, poorly tagged and photographed doll with flaws...

I wasn't pretty sure what I am buying beside the fact that body looked original and i loved the colouring of make-up and hair...and i have learned just to swallow the ugly clothes and unwanted accessories and extras, right?

This is how she looked on eBay - random animals out of proportion and a knee joint problems..

somewhere between Teresa - Rachel wanna be;-)

When she arrived I dived into unknown territory and yet again - there is no coming back:-)

a magikal world of Fashion Fever Teresas...wonderful classic mold in contemporary meterials and urban styling, ohh....

 what a view!
lovely neutral make-up and great clothes but mine is not among them...
2004 was definitely an amazing year...

fashions are killers and blonde T is always a treat...

Mines original clothes are definitely ones i'd wear on daily basis... I actually have such a vintage velvet burgundy jacket.
what a pity she managed to loose them all;-)

...This gives me idea in what to dress her...just need to fabricate a t-shirt fast...before restyling her on my own later on..

------------------------------------------------------------------
p.s. the white monster cat turned out to be a vintage official barbie Persian cat sold separately and i possibly sold them for more that payed for the doll;)

seems like an another parallel universe;-)
