My Dolls. No. 130

This one is better than I thought... just after I put a doll-ban on myself classics started to fall from teh sky... One Sunday, when shop was closed I saw unusual lots and lots of dressed fashion dolls sitting in widow display. I came next morning while kids were in schools to check what they have. They weren't super cheap for charity shop - 3 pounds I guess...but I have found one I had no doubts about...

My second Generation Girl!

I easily identified my doll - fab burgundy/chesnut locks and new mold. Surprisingly she kept her original jewelry and leftovers of elastic... even her clothes, genuine but not stock ones, were in her colours..

Welcome Chelsie Peterson... purple loving hippie girl:-)
definitely my kind of girl
(my portable disc got mad around that time and my 'on arrival' pics went funny)

she has a smaller, Teen Skipper, type of body,
with bendable elbow and pretty, ballerina like, palms...

Here she is restored, redressed

and in her new student accommodation (blast from the past vs. feature from the future?)...

***

This is how she looked brand new:

and Dance Party version:

and personification of an English girl with her Aussie friend (Tori).

I feel tempted to give her adult body, but her ring, and stuff...

This is all a really big deal and serious stuff... Possibly the best line ever, tasteful, contemporary, thought through characters with their personal styles... geeky Christie, sporty Tori and introduction of fabulous face-sculpt of artsy Ana / Lara (that's why!). As students on International High School they had hand-out space to buy separately and each doll has been sold with folded box-room of their own...

You can find everything on their Wiki...

My dolls No.128 & 129

After my Christmas BHF bundle and 9 doll heads I had no need or desire for any more doll over-excitement obviously...
By coincidence, as usually, one day my doll's forum brought up topic of fiery ginger-haired and green-eyed Lea doll from Secret Spells 2003 line...also known as post-Potter Wiccan witch line;-)
I just had an innocent look at eBay and tadaaam, here they are, as a duo for 3.75 or something like that. Not to feel that I haven't tried I asked how much they would be in 'Buy Now' option as I 'don't have time' to wait and bid 5 seconds before the end of auction... I couldn't say no, you know...

Not sure what Mattel meant at all...it's all very colorful and plastic yet not traditionally 'halloweeny'. Doll's accessories (wands, cauldrons, books of spells and animal friends) and floral patterns are sort of traditional...
Girls also come with a 'day look' or casual, contemporary top and boot cut denims /pic from internet/:-)

Wicca might best be described as a modern religion, based on ancient Witchcraft traditions, where a Hunter God and a Fertility Goddess /Mother Nature is worshiped. It focuses in neo-pegan and NewAge manner on being in tune with the forces of nature, traditional knowledge of Herbs and medicines (as w witch - healer - Shaman).  Symbols refer to elements (water, air, fire etc.) and their graphic representation as unity/harmony - weather it is a triqueta or a pentagram...

Supplies and tools include cauldrons, candles, daggers, chests, chalices, crystals, herbs and of course robes and cloaks.

Here are examples of real Wiccan altars and 'easthetics':

Guess that's where I maybe should go with these dolls in future. Lea's fiery hair and kind of a fairy-like, highly stylised make-up makes much more sense than the ones of  her friends here...

Oh, I got a bit carried away... here they are on arrival...

Classic mummy delivery...
Very interesting colour on Christie - and a nice surprise - golden shoes!
and lots of original elements of their wardrobe...
Bad news is - Lea has obviously shortened hair, which is kinda ok and more useful and realistic...
..and that her pants ar emissing and green cape/skirt was cut and glued on her /??/
Christie came with velvet top, blue cords and fancy skirt...

Both of theme were produced in two versions.
Differences in Lea's (I guess its Kayla, actually, whatever!) make-up are rather prominent...

I have got the right one with worse eyes but fab lips, guess i'll need to fix that...

Christie has two different ways her braids are made and worn...

it is very exciting to have Asha in this colour palette but I don't think I can take her pink pink lips... I also thought Kayla's eyes are too crazy and I toned them down with some basic acrylics...

now you can see her cool, silvery make-up much clearer
Cat eye is still there but it is less 'poison-ivy-esque'...

and traditional sneak peek of what is about to come:-)

Thrones

Today a really nice story about where your dolls can take you...

One evening, on local fb recommendations group, I saw a post looking for someone owning a bjd for  hire for a product photo session. The only thing I have close enough to that is my 16" Madame Alexanders Paris Williams doll...

Before I knew I had a crazy date, evening before flying somewhere else...
I packed few clothes and wraps and boxed doll into hiking backpack and got on my bike after google maps consultations.

This is how I met an artist in her 50s making laser-cut gothic thrones in different scales in her tiny row house with a very long narrow garden...

With glasses filled up with chilled white wine my just started doing and making:-)

Here are my shots from off and backstage mixed with her promos.

Here my Lenara-Fashionista hybrid having her 5 ins of fame...

and here are fruits of our labour...

I left happy and slightly drunk with that lace dolly prop skirt, two promo plastic Barbie-sized bins and two prototypes of thrones I will probably paint some silly colour:-)
