My dolls, nr 54 aka ZZ

As some of you might have notice - in that green bag from last post was something more... loassic case of a pile of dolls in far end of bootsale blanket...on the bottom, face down - Christie just waiting for me:-) £1.50 at max...

She was wearing a genuine. casual polka dot dress and had characteristic yellow Z in the pupils of her eyes..very characteristic and dated...on her wrist she was wearing classic silicone spring bracelet/hair accessory...for a moment i thought she might even be from the Wild'n'wet team...

Her make-up is strong but works - electric green eye shadows, orange-red lipstic and really lot of blush which i love, love!

Here she is all poor and dusty /and out of focus/,..

with amazing sun kissed high quality long hair!
This is what happens when no one is touching a doll
- they start to look like vinyl stiffies with empty eyes:-(
This is how this lady looked when she was brand new. Fonts are just so pleasing on this box!
Everything is vivid green - this make-up makes sense;-)... lovely hawaiian grass skirt, sunglasses and stylish jelly sandals to enjoy seashore...

I traditionally decided to cover her up in some cosy woolies...
just a sneak peak today...

She seriously is glowing with happines...

Bootsale discoveries

hello,
today i prepared a story about a little monster - another discovery-on-a-plate so to speak... surprising yet obvious...While at car boot sale... she got my attention with 1. purple hair, 2. articulated body 3. acrylic eyes, 4.she had clothes an dshoes on, 5. price 50p is worth spending for rebodying or re-paint option always;-)

quite an exciting set of colours (matching another of my 50 p purchase):

not so mysterious anymore:
to make a long story short - she is MGA Entertainment production or Bratz goes Monster High cause she is a commercial bitch...
 black magic and tattoos, uuuuuu
she turned out to be called Yasmina (and has few editions - this is wave 2) - Magic night out:

Clothes happily sold already... her body is a bit stiff and wobbly at the same time.. not even close to Loiv / fashionista yet with large MH feet... hair are quite wonderful with three shades of purple...
and 'animalistic' amber/honey eyes too... (ok, metallic cherry lipstick as well):

she, again, had to wait for months is a waiting-box;-)
she seems to have quite a potential an da fan-base too...

I removed her make-up and tattoo and was quite pleased with how 'japanese' and 'alienesque' she looked...

I was very shy with my 'painting' this time...TBC

so innocent out of a sudden!

Superstar - Doll nr 53

Today a study of Benetton Barbie and her renovation I mentioned a post ago.

Despite arriving as a headless chewed freebie I decided to dedicate her a special post. After all the is a classic - one of these dolls I had tattooed at the back of my mind with the fire of desperate desire and unsatisfied trauma... and, no - there is no exaggeration - this is how child perceives window shopping... I remember that even in Poland there was few from her line available which only tortured me more... I remember tropical line, essp Miko with her amazing hair, just standing behind the window glass - out of reach!

There is nothing new I can say...amazing colorful doll with red lips and super long cramped hair! Perfect and unique in her way... Lets feed our eyes once again... as a therapy for gray November days maybe:-0

They must have been a great success as Mattel produced second wave (red earrings on Barbie)

they repeated the same trick in 2000s with Fashion Fever - these dolls cause serious fights on ebay when spotted boxed...

and here a true eye candy - modern dolls in vintage clothes <3

My journey starts with a very successful operation on neck and less spectacular work on hair - case of dry fizzy hair unfortunately despite three sessions and tone of 'product' of different nature:-)

..what counts is that you can still see the original hairstyle and earrings are in tact..

She waited few months in a queue only to get the most superb treatment so far... I decided to recreate her original outfit. So instead of restyling her I made strongly inspired - colour and fashion-wise items...which is a topic for a separate entry ofc:-)

sneak-peak

extras existing for  r.e.a.l. ....

Superstar - Dolls no 52

On May the 1st I have been very lucky doll-wise again. Remember one car boot sale was just a disaster so we went to the other one too - I had a fast scan and came back with bag of dolls...
This should be title of my blog actually...maybe.

Literally at the first spot was an elderly couple with three Superstars.
I was just happening to hit my Superstar phase - read too many blogs and remembered all the models I ever wanted LOL.. and here they are... Three unloved dollies - one with broken neck but obviously a Benetton Barbie with blue hoops and red lips, one with shiny wavy hair with a tiara still attached to the original hairdo and her - platinum blonde with purple eyes and SET of DIAMOND jewelry and original, I presumed, pink and silver lace tights O_0...
(yes I lied to myself I will get her cheap only to get the glitzzzz)

After classic scene of extended examination and disappointment on the face I got third one for free as Benetton girl had the 'short neck syndrome' and chewed-flat hand...

bag interior...

all saved Superstars (oh dear, they have so much charm...so many memories):

and the diamond queen I could not let to lay in a disgrace even one more day...

 counting eye lashes...
/dated/ hairline and earring, squeeee
signature (1966, Malaysia) and THE lace
identified by lovely purple-eyed Superstar lover - Lunarah as
Pink Jubilee 1987, Walmart's 25th anniversary /!/

my internal 7 tear old is delighted!

her outfit proves to be rather versatile (and barbie pink, brace yourselves ;-)
you can see a little bit of lace tights here and there so they are originals probbaly never taken off for nearly 30 years....

here is full length photo of her before and after
after spa wearing vintage doll clothes -
hand-me down unidentified wedding dress and once super fluffy Fleurs fur ...
the other doll I identifies myself thank to tiara as

My First Princes 1989
/stolen pictures, yeah!/

Despite buying her nude I accidentaly, months later got two vintage Sindies - one of them was wearing her princess dress!..which was so unexpected I only noticed it at home..

I was strong enough to put her for sale as too pink, princessy and childish, you know..

My doll No 51

Once upon a time on Monday morning I've been coming back from a school drop off and just to have clear consciousness (or not), out of greed and curiosity) I just popped into local charity... and there she is...or maybe it was Friday afternoon - it didn't make much sense anyway...

Doll in a full outfit, with unusual haircolour, shoes! and articulated one..she is just sitting there (waiting for me obviously) with a price tag £1... I just grabbed her, payed, squeezed into mu purse and rushed home...

Obviously a horseriding outfit, genuine Barbie clothes, high boots I always dreamed about and this tottaly amazing amazing skin shade and auburn / hazelnut / idunno hair colour!

make-up is basically brown and lipstick is dark nude... all that on Superstar face!
 graceful and very well posing:-)
so good and natural looking!
I was so impressed with this body that I forgot Holiwood nails has the same type of body already...

'Thank you for saving me. I am all yours'!

It wasn't too difficult to find out that its a 1997 Horse-riding Barbie...
She came boxed alone riding on a cardboard or in a gift set with a nice horse.

Mine is option 2 as I have found one  bow pin in her hair, yay!
Can't wait to restyle her - amazing potential in those colors!!

[she waited few months for her session - TBA]
